Luke 2.1-14: Story of the birth of Jesus

the approach of Christmas, our streets are lit with thousands of lights: shop windows sparkle, sparkle and trees Santas are illuminated facades of our houses. Christmas is no longer the party of the birth of Jesus, but rather an ode to the glory of the Fairy Electricity.

All tinsel, all this light contrasts with the narrative that give us the Gospels. Around the manger of Bethlehem there was no light except that coming from heaven to proclaim the Good News to those who slept under the stars. The true light is that of the birth of Jesus among us. And it took place in poverty, in destitution, even as there was more room in the inn to welcome the Son of God.

In our darkness, our darkness, in our poverty (not just hardware) as the true light of our Lord will shine and show us the path. If we are dazzled by what we dangled our society, if we look at the brilliance of wrapping paper and a thousand little lights and garlands, then sure, we shall not distinguish the glimmer of hope that God has brought into our lives.

Shut your eyes for a moment. Leave room for our Father. Look deep within our hearts, our being and we will break a new dawn, a ray of the Sun God.

The true light that came from above announced men here below: "Glory to God in highest heaven, peace on earth and goodwill among men." Today in the flood light, let us find and distinguish the Love of God for each of us, love that there are over two thousand years has demonstrated the fragility of a newborn child .

Today, it is motivating for all of us, because we might be tempted to believe that in the eyes of God, our expertise, knowledge gained from our training can become more important than what our heart feels. But God searches the hearts, the heart of being and He knows that is what we are that counts, not what we learned on the benches of the universities or faculties of theology (which is certainly important, as there are readers here no contempt for studies).

Faith is also a bold, to run a risk: followers abandon everything to follow a man who is foreign to them. They leave their boats, their nets, their own father, to embark on a journey totally unknown. I walk among you, I will be your God and you shall be my people. -Leviticus 26.12

In the religious sense, the word "will" literally means "alliance" . On this day of National Day, the Lord's promise that He made this covenant with a chosen people first, whose ancestor was Abraham (Gen. 12:2,3), takes on special meaning.

History teaches us that there are almost 720 years, three cantons united and gave birth to what became the Swiss Confederation.

The Bible teaches us that the descendants of the Patriarch Abraham become the people God chose for his people "I am your God and you shall be my people" . God's people suffered as slaves in Egypt. After many attempts to Pharaoh to win freedom, Moses led the Israelites to the Promised Land. The encounter with the Lord is always in motion, walking in, long, painful and sometimes discouraging.

The Pentecost meeting in Port Vila went well. Tuesday 06 to Friday, May 9, 2008: spiritual part in the morning, and city building in the evening. Many of our brothers and sisters of the islands have made the trip.

One hundred people were present at the Sunday service with a baptism two people who come to the island of Pentecost .

After Pentecost meeting, we have implemented fasting and prayer.

Pray for the supporters who are increasingly likely to come in our various meetings.

Pray for the students who applied VITE Missionary to bring them the Word of God .

Pray for the next seminar in Santo, in July 2008.

Pray for the health of our sister Rodha Waia (wife of Missionary) who must control over Noumea.

Pray for the various islands of the Archipelago, that God visits.

Pray for the removal of local preachers.

What are we building?

Matthew 7.24-27

You remember the story of three little pigs who rocked for many of us, our childhood? These three pigs: one built his house of straw, the wolf came and blew so hard that the house was completely destroyed. The second was built his wooden house, the wolf came and blew both the house has been completely devastated. The third has built his brick house. What are we building?

Matthew 7.24-27

You remember the story of three little pigs who rocked for many of us, our childhood? These three pigs: one built his house of straw, the wolf came and blew so hard that the house was completely destroyed. The second was built his wooden house, the wolf came and blew both the house has been completely devastated. The third has built his brick house. The wolf came and blew it, blew his lungs, but it could not overthrow the house where the three piglets were refugees and they were saved.

The Gospel, Jesus reminds us, is not only words. He is best actions: "Whoever listens to what I just said and put it into practice is like a wise man who built his house on rock. " Put into practice is the engine of every believer. It is not meant to shine by doing great things and wonders, miracles (in the sense we understand it), but to give substance to the words by the gesture.

As Jesus reminds us a bit higher: it is the will of his Father. Many will be persuaded to act in accordance with this exhortation, but in the eyes of God, they will hurt and will be unknown to Him on the Day of Judgement. Do the will of God the Father is summarized in the commandment of love that runs throughout the Bible: "Love the Lord your God with all thy heart and with all your soul and with all thy strength" (Deut. 6.5) and "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" (Lev. 18.19).

In our relations with our neighbor, tendons, day after day in the little things of everyday life, to be built on rock, for he whom God places in our path, it sent her, her reflection . The men in the first century have seen, finally, God's face into that of Jesus the Nazarene. Today, the Lord is revealed also in those with whom we interact.

Doing the will of God, love beyond prejudices and differences, seek to meet the Lord in the eyes of others is what will make our faith, our home, resist the assaults of this world and blow when the Divine Judgement, it will not collapse.

pray our Lord to base our relationship on the rock of faith in Him, and love doing His will, day after day.

God is with us always

Rejoice with those who rejoice
and weep with those who weep .- Romans 12.15

ago moments in life when one feels abandoned by all ... and even by God. There are others where it We believe that we could touch the hand of the Lord, as He is near. And then there are all those around us, our families, our friends, our neighbors with whom we share joys and sorrows.

In great sadness, we would really like to find words that will console and comfort the soul in torment ... We are looking, but nothing comes, if not tears. Then we share the grief of those whom we love. This division then did not need words. We remain silent, but through our tears, our compassion, there is love true God who reveals himself. God comes to us comes among us and his presence alone console.

Other times, the joy is so great, so communicative that either we give thanks to the Lord to live such a moment, or we forget a little, we are all stunned. Again, although we called him, he comes to sing with us.

Whether in pain or in joy, we do not walk alone on the path of Life. There is a God of love that will carry us and sustains us. It is sad when we are sad he is gay when we gays.

not forget that there are around us, whether near or far, brothers, sisters, friends and even strangers who pray for us who, perhaps today, live moments of doubts, questioning, revolts. And let's not forget that God receives the prayers and then He kindly answer them according to His will, which we certainly disconcert.

In our prayers, do not fail to give God all the people known as unknowns with which we rejoice and mourn with us. By being supportive of each other, close to those who are suffering that we will give a chance our Lord to show all the love that carries us.

In our tears and our laughter, there is God, the Merciful, the Comforter, the faithful friend.

United by the Spirit

Story of Pentecost - Acts 2

Pentecost is the fulfillment of the promise that Jesus gave to his disciples before ascending into heaven, the coming of the Spirit, the Paraclete (or console). What is also striking in this story of Luke, is the unity of early Christians believers were all together in one place . This echoes the prayer that Jesus addresses to his Father about His disciples I pray that all may be one .

United in difference, in differentiation. As a couple, for example, the unit not based on full compliance with the other, but in putting together of different personalities and characters. This difference born of mutual love, enhancement and sharing.

churches, communities and all should work towards this ecumenical ideal, united by the Spirit in the respect for differences. This is not to judge each other more or less than itself, to condemn the way he lived his faith, because it does not match his own vision. This is to let the Spirit of God, the fire that burns in our heart, speak the language Love the true gift of the Almighty.

At Pentecost, tongues were loosened: the Good News was proclaimed to all who could hear. Still and always, like our churches, each of us is called to let the Spirit speak. What this feast of Pentecost, our churches and our communities are united in the gospel reach the world: Jesus is risen, he is in heaven with the Father and he watches over us day after day.
