"Constant Doresmieulx Alexander, born in Saint-Omer 25 July 1738, Member States of Artois, a captain in the regiment of Auxerrois Infantry, dean of the Knights of St. Louis, died at St. Omer July 29, 1827 in his 90th year. He was descended from a noble family and very old in this province. He served with distinction in the Seven Years War and in American campaigns. During the Revolution, snatched abruptly blessings of peace, he despised the loss of his fortune and went faithfully fight under the flag of their choice. He returned to France in 1802 and bore with the noble resignation destruction of his beloved castle Fouquières. Model of honor and loyalty in the active part of his career, he devoted his last years to relieve the unfortunate and to bless his memory by all those around him. It was an infinitely lovable old man, filled with a rare and touching kindness, and who could also report his travels far the most curious anecdotes. The name is registered with Doresmieulx believes in the annals of literary and administrative Artois. "
